Brother and Sister

I love this picture!  While the kids were watching Cinderella over Thanksgiving, we looked over and Halle was just resting on Carter.  So sweet.

 

Denver

We got to spend the first weekend in December in Denver visiting some really good friends, Matt and Julia Anderson and Jason Critton.  It was the first time that we had been out with the whole family (Jesse goes out once or twice a year for "guy" time  with Jason and Matthew), so it was fun to take the kids and for me to get to spend some time with Julia.  The kids had a great time in the airport and on the airplane.  It was freezing that weekend in Denver, but we got some great quality time with friends we don't see that often.  I'm SO glad that we went!

Girl Time

Last week, Nikki and I took Jennika and Halle on a mother-daughter girl date.  It was a lot of fun!!  We took the girls to see The Princess and the Frog.  The girls wore their princess dresses and looked completely adorable!

 

 

Halle liked the movie - mostly for the princess and the singing.  The "Shadow Man" (i.e. voodoo) was a little scary, and I don't think it's one that Carter would have enjoyed (he gets scared very easily!).  I liked the overall message of the movie though and am so glad that Disney now has a black princess to add to the ranks!
 
 

Christmas Bells

Here is the video of the kids playing in the bell choir at church last Sunday.  Carter was awesome - intently focusing on his bell number to play at the right time during the song!  Halle wasn't really loving the fact that she was up there.  I think she was about ready to fall asleep!  When she walked off at the end, she was coming to sit on my lap.  =)  You can also see their great friends Tyler and Jennika having a great time ringing the bells too!

Oh Typepad...

So I have been trying to edit and publish that post about Carter's birthday for about 3 weeks, but typepad kept freezing up on me!!  Not sure why, but I hope it doesn't become a regular thing!

Anyway, to finish what I couldn't get to post with that post.  The kids painted cars and animals with fun glitter paint at Carter's birthday.  I think they all had a great time!  Carter also wanted cookies instead of cake (which was perfectly fine with me!), so we had YUMMY cookies from Great Harvest along with ice cream, chocolate milk, and orange juice.  That might have to become a new tradition...we'll see!!

Here are 10 things about Carter at 4 years old...

1. He can write his name! YAY!!

2. He loves, loves, loves sports!  We did soccer this year, and he is already talking about playing again next year.

3.  He loves that he is the oldest (and tells Halle quite often).  =)

4.  Does not EVER sleep in.  He's usually up by 6:30.

5.  Loves to go to preschool and toSunday school.

6.  Loves Curious George.

7.  Doesn't like fruit. 

8.  Still gives me a hug and a kiss when I drop him off at preschool.  =)

9.  Loves to sing songs (Animal ABCs, Baby Bumblebee, Tractor Tractor).  This only started a few months ago.

10. Loves to do things with Daddy - hiking, playing, and he can't wait to go skiing again this year!!
